Welcome to Childcare Bij Bartje, located on the beautiful estate at Keunenhoek 34a in Budel. We are here for parents seeking a place where their child can be themselves and receive all the space and time they need to grow. In our warm and secure environment, we provide professional care for children aged 0 to 4 years.
Our unique location is characterized by its emphasis on nature experience. We have our own children's farm with chickens, sheep, goats, ducks, and Kune kune pigs. Additionally, we have an aviary with various types of birds. These animals are an integral part of our pedagogical program, where children learn about nature and the importance of caring in a playful way.
We provide care for 18 children in a homely setting with 6 separate bedrooms. Our outdoor play area covers no less than 2500m² where children can play and discover freely. A special aspect of our childcare is that children can sleep outdoors, which contributes to healthy development and resilience.
Our dedicated pedagogical staff are ready to give each child the individual attention they deserve. We work with organic products and provide warm meals, fresh fruit, and healthy snacks. For the youngest ones, we naturally provide bottle feeding and have all necessary baby care products available.

Three of the seven assessed conditions have not been resolved: acting in accordance with the pedagogical policy plan, acting in accordance with the safety and health policy, and the safe and appropriate furnishing of the conservatory as an indoor space. The remaining four conditions do comply.

Identified: unhygienic nose wiping with one tissue for multiple children without hand hygiene, unshielded pellet stove in conservatory with non-functioning closure, hand washing in shared bucket after visit to petting zoo, and daily offering of unhealthy day and week choice products as sandwich toppings
- Accommodation: The conservatory is not safe and suitable for use by children. The temperature was only 15 degrees (below the standard of 18 degrees), the pellet stove does not provide stable base heating, and the unshielded stove poses a risk of burns
Summary
GGD Brabant-Zuidoost conducted an unannounced follow-up investigation on 20 January 2026 at daycare center Bij Bartje in Budel, commissioned by the municipality of Cranendonck. The investigation assessed whether previously identified shortcomings from 9 September 2025 had been resolved. Of the seven assessed conditions, four fully comply, while three conditions still do not comply. The location provides day care for 18 children in two core groups and is housed in an extension of the providers' home.
