Summary

On 30 March 2026, GGD Twente conducted an unannounced annual inspection at childminder Arseen (VGO) in Almelo. The childminder provides care for children aged 0–4 years through childminder agency ViaViela. Overall, the location meets the statutory requirements. The pedagogical quality is good: the childminder works sensitively, offers developmentally appropriate activities, and has a warm, safe approach. One violation was identified regarding safety and health: the open staircase in the living room had no handrail, smooth treads, and a barrier with gaps that were too wide (20 cm between bars), creating a fall risk for children. The childminder was given a recovery offer and, before 4 May 2026, provided photographs demonstrating that the staircase had been fitted with fall protection and the openings had been reduced. After remediation, the location meets all assessed requirements. The advice to the municipality is: no enforcement action.
