As a parent, you may be eligible for childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag) when you use a recognised childminder via ViaViela. The benefit is income-dependent and determined based on your taxable income. The maximum hourly rate for childminder care in 2024 for which you can apply for childcare benefit is €7.53. You can apply for benefit for up to 230 hours of care per child per month. ViaViela helps you with information about the conditions and the application process with the Tax and Customs Administration Benefits. Important conditions are that you work, study or participate in a pathway to work, and that you use an LRK-registered childminder.

Childminder (gastouder) care via ViaViela is on average 20% cheaper than other forms of childcare. You pay two parties: the childminder (on average €6.25 to €8.95 per child per hour) and ViaViela for matching and guidance (all-in monthly rate, depending on care hours, number of children and region). There are no registration fees. ViaViela calculates your personalised net costs in advance, including childcare benefit. In a calculation example with median income, 2 children and 2 days of care per week, net costs can work out at just €0.50 per child per hour after benefit deduction.

ViaViela region Almelo is registered in the LRK (number 190734243) and meets all quality requirements of the Childcare Act. Each location is assessed by the GGD on quality requirements and inspection reports are publicly available. In addition, ViaViela holds a Dispute-Free certificate and is assessed annually by the Childcare Disputes Committee. The agency has an internal complaints procedure in accordance with the Childcare Act and a mandatory parent committee that represents the interests of parents and children.
