Subsidy & costs
Parents can receive childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag) for care costs with childminders from W-care midden. The government sets maximum hourly rates each year for which benefit is available (€8.10 per hour per child for 2025). The benefit is calculated over both the childminder's hourly rate and the agency costs. We offer an online trial calculation tool to estimate the possible benefit.
W-care midden applies transparent rates with no registration fees. Mediation costs are a one-time fee of €50 after a successful match. In addition, you pay a contribution per child per hour, which is determined by mutual agreement. For flexible/incidental care, a minimum agency fee of €35 per month may be agreed. We also work with self-employed childminders who set their own hourly rates.

All childminders at W-care midden are registered in the National Childcare Register (Landelijk Register Kinderopvang) and have: a diploma related to childcare, a Certificate of Good Conduct (Verklaring Omtrent Gedrag) for the childminder and all household members over 18, and a Paediatric First Aid certificate. Childminders are subject to ongoing screening by the government. W-care visits each childcare location at least twice yearly: once for Risk Assessment (RIE) and once for an evaluation discussion about the care provided.
