About this care
Welcome to the after-school care (BSO) of De Tovertuin, located on the upper floor of our homely setting at Oude Baan 88 in Dongen. We provide care for up to 11 primary-school children aged 4 to 12. Our space feels like a large living room where children can relax, play and discover after school.
We follow a nature-oriented approach: children regularly cook and bake with produce from our own garden, create crafts from found materials and go on outings to the nearby park and library. The large green playground surrounding the building invites climbing, den-building and active play together.
Warm meals, fresh fruit and drinks are included; we happily adjust the menu for food allergies. Parents receive photos and messages through our own app, so you can share in your child’s experiences. Our qualified, permanent pedagogical staff create a familiar, safe atmosphere in which every child can be themselves.
In short: at our small-scale BSO in Dongen your child has all the space to play, grow and make happy memories after school.Read more

Summary
GGD Hart voor Brabant conducted an annual inspection on 7 July 2026 at after-school care (BSO) VOF De Tovertuin in Dongen. The facility accommodates 16 children aged 4 to 8 years and is part of a larger childcare organization. Overall, the location meets the quality requirements regarding pedagogical practice, safety and health, parental rights, and certificates of conduct. Two shortcomings were identified: the pedagogical work plan insufficiently concretely described the base group's working method (structural merging with the neighboring after-school care was missing), and a trainee staff member was not linked to the provider in the childcare personnel register at the start of their employment. The first violation was resolved through a recovery offer and the location now complies. For the second violation, a recurrence of a previously identified problem, no recovery offer was given. The provider has since completed the link and established a work instruction.
