Subsidy & costs
Childminder (gastouder) care through ViaViela is formal care, which means parents can claim childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag) from the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration. To qualify, you must use an approved childminder through an LRK-registered childminder agency such as ViaViela. The amount of the benefit depends on your income, the number of children and the number of care hours. ViaViela offers parents a personalised calculation to determine the net costs after deduction of the childcare benefit.
The costs for childminder (gastouder) care through ViaViela consist of two parts: an hourly rate to the childminder (on average €6.25 to €8.95 per child per hour) and a monthly fee to ViaViela for placement and guidance (all-in rate with no registration fees). The agency fee depends on the number of care hours, number of children and region. After deduction of childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag), the net costs can come to approximately €0.50 per child per hour or more, depending on your personal situation. ViaViela offers free customised calculations before care begins.
Trust & screening
ViaViela carries out careful screening and selection of all childminders before they are placed. Childminders must hold all required diplomas, a Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG), and be registered in the Childcare Personnel Register. The care location is checked for safety and hygiene. ViaViela visits childminders regularly to verify that they continue to meet all quality requirements and offers ongoing training and pedagogical support.
ViaViela and all childminders are registered in the National Childcare Register (LRK) and comply with all statutory quality requirements. Childminders hold all required diplomas and a Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG). We carry out annual visits to check whether care locations meet safety and hygiene regulations. The municipal health service (GGD) inspects childminder agencies annually and childminders every two years. ViaViela has an internal complaints procedure in accordance with the Childcare Act and offers parents access to a parent committee.

Summary
Childminder agency (gastouderbureau) ViaViela Uden VOF was inspected on 17 November 2025 by GGD Hart voor Brabant on behalf of the municipality of Maashorst. The agency has been mediating and guiding childminders and parents in the municipality of Uden since 2006. At the time of inspection, 558 children were being cared for by 122 childminders for 376 parent households. The agency works with 2 mediation staff in addition to the provider. All assessed quality requirements were met: pedagogical policy (pedagogisch beleid), personnel, safety and health, parental rights, and childminder agency quality and duty of care. There was one recovery offer (herstelaanbod): an adult household member of a childminder was not registered in the childcare persons register, which has been resolved. At the annual inspections of childminders in 2025, there were 12 recovery offers (23%), mostly regarding safety measures and missing risk assessments. These have been resolved and were not classified as serious.
