ViaViela is the largest childminder agency (gastouderbureau) in the Netherlands with more than 40 locations and over 225 contact persons throughout the country. Since 2005, our childminders have cared for more than 225,000 children. We offer personal guidance with a dedicated local contact who helps you find a suitable childminder and supports you with everything related to childcare. Our childminders are carefully screened and receive ongoing training and pedagogical support. You can also access parenting advice through our telephone consultation hours and regular workshops on parenting topics.
Subsidy & costs
For childminder care via ViaViela, you can apply for childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag) from the Tax and Customs Administration. To qualify, you must be working, studying, or following a pathway to work. Both the childminder agency and the childminder must be LRK-registered. ViaViela ensures correct hour registration and annual statements that you need for your benefit application. You pay the childminder through the agency, not directly, which provides payment security. We offer an online administrative system where you can find all hours, payments, and annual statements.
Trust & screening
Before you meet your childminder, we have already found and assessed her. Our screening includes: MBO-2 diploma in Care and Welfare Support or equivalent, valid first aid certificate for children, Certificate of Conduct (VOG) for the childminder and household members aged 18+, registration in the Childcare Personnel Register (PRK), inspection of the childcare location for safety and hygiene, and knowledge of our pedagogical policy. Household members and regular visitors are also screened via VOG and PRK.
ViaViela region Geldermalsen is LRK-registered (number 217063408) and complies with all statutory quality requirements. Each location is inspected annually by the GGD (Municipal Health Service), and we receive the Dispute-Free Certificate from the Childcare Disputes Committee. Our childminders hold all required diplomas, a valid first aid certificate, a Certificate of Conduct (VOG), and are registered in the Childcare Personnel Register. We carry out at least two visits per year to childminders to check the childcare location for safety and hygiene.

Pedagogical vision
Our pedagogical vision is based on the four core pedagogical objectives of Prof. J.M.A. Riksen Walraven: providing emotional security, offering opportunities for personal competence, offering opportunities for social competence, and passing on values and norms. ViaViela translates these objectives into three core values: secure attachment, attention to each child's individuality, and talent development. We support our childminders with theoretical deepening, workshops, online courses, pedagogical newsletters, and an observation tool called 'Dit ben ik!' ('This is me!') to track children's development.
