Summary
GGD IJsselland conducted an announced incidental investigation on 30 June 2026 at daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) Ukkie B.V. in Vollenhove, following an anonymous report about heat in the building. The location, housed in a former infant school with 44 childcare places, struggled with high temperatures in group rooms and bedrooms due to single glazing and a flat roof. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) found that the location was not acting in accordance with its safety and health policy: temperatures were not being structurally monitored and logged, and actual temperatures were far above the norms stated in the policy. A recovery offer was made. At re-inspections on 14 July and 17 August 2026, it appeared that the provider had taken substantial measures, including air conditioning units, sun blinds, adapted protocols and improved temperature monitoring. The shortcoming has been remedied. The advice to the municipality is: no enforcement action.
