About this care
Toverhoed-Noord BSO Dependance is located in a former secondary school building at Rompertsebaan 63 in ’s-Hertogenbosch. Together with primary school De Kwast we form a child-centre where children from the upper grades of primary school can enjoy challenging activities and a welcoming atmosphere after school. The large group rooms, spacious auditorium, grass field and basketball court provide plenty of space to move, play and explore.
We are open on weekdays from 14:00 to 18:30. During school holidays and on national public holidays the location is closed; we also schedule a maximum of two staff training days each year. Our qualified pedagogical staff pick the children up after school – on foot, by bike or by taxi – and bring them safely to the BSO. Every group has a fixed mentor who is the first point of contact for parents and who closely follows each child’s development.
Our activity programme is wide-ranging: from arts and crafts and cooking to sports and games in the garden or on the basketball court. We regularly organise excursions and encourage nature and discovery activities. Everything is guided by Partou’s vision: we work with six pedagogical building blocks that help children grow in resilience and self-confidence through play. Parents are kept informed of the day’s events via the Partou parent app and can easily request extra care or swap days when space is available.

Summary
The Municipal Health Service (GGD) conducted an unannounced annual inspection on 31 March 2026 at after-school care (BSO) Toverhoed-Noord BSO Dependance in 's-Hertogenbosch. The facility, part of Smallsteps B.V. (brand name Partou), accommodates up to 48 children aged 8 to 12 years in two base groups. The location meets all assessed quality requirements for pedagogical climate, staff and groups, and parental rights. The pedagogical practice shows that staff interact with children in a sensitive and responsive manner, stimulate their development and set clear boundaries. Staff hold appropriate qualifications and Certificate of Conduct (VOG) declarations. Parents are well informed and there is an effective complaints procedure. No violations or areas for improvement were identified. The previous annual inspection in May 2025 also yielded a positive outcome. In 2023, there was a violation regarding parental rights (information), but this was resolved following a recovery offer.
