About this care
Welcome to childcare center 't Kukelesaantje! Since 1994, we have been the first childcare center in Bunschoten-Spakenburg and have grown to become a well-known name in the region. Our childcare center provides care for babies and toddlers aged 0 to 4 years in a warm, homely atmosphere.
Love, safety, and security are central to our care. These three core values form the foundation on which children can develop. Our pedagogical staff greet the children every day with a smile and a hug, so they literally end up in a warm nest.
We are a not-for-profit organization, which means we have no profit motive. Quality is our priority - the money we earn is directly invested in the well-being and development of the children and in the knowledge and skills of our staff. This enables us to provide high-quality care with the child at the center.
Our childcare center has a capacity of up to 78 children and works with VVE (Early and Preschool Education) to promote language and developmental stimulation for the children. We are open to every belief and the customs that come with it, teaching children love and respect for each other.

- Stability of care: insufficient permanent staff members for children from 1 year old, and children are being cared for in more than one regular group (Kukeltjes and Stippelbeestjes are both linked to Pampoentjes without consistent familiar faces)

Daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) 't Kukelesaantje in Bunschoten-Spakenburg was subject to an unannounced follow-up inspection by the Municipal Health Service (GGD) Utrecht region on 3 September 2026. The location, with 78 childcare places and 5 groups, does not meet requirements on two important aspects: early childhood education and staff and groups. The provider cannot demonstrate that the mandatory 960 hours of early childhood education per year are being achieved, partly because the ECE group regularly closes due to staff shortages. There are also structural problems with the staff-child ratio (7 violations in 2 weeks), the three-hour rule and the stability of care. Children are being cared for in more than one regular group and there are insufficient permanent staff members. The qualification requirements are in order. This is already the sixth time in two years that the location has failed to meet requirements during an inspection. The GGD advises the municipality of Bunschoten to enforce.
