About this care
BSO ’t Aquarium is a recently opened after-school care facility located at Kievitstraat 6 in Ten Boer. Officially registered in the National Childcare Register (LRK) since 23 May 2024 under number 303519137, we provide care for up to 22 children aged 4 to 12. Our mission is to offer a safe and familiar environment where children can grow into confident individuals who respect themselves and their surroundings.
We offer a wide range of activities including indoor and outdoor play, arts and crafts, dance, sports, and music. There is also a quiet space for homework. We collaborate with local primary schools De Fontein and De Huifkar, and have established connections with the music and dance schools in the same building, creating opportunities for joint activities.
Our services include before-school care (VSO) from 06:30 to 18:15, after-school care until 18:15, and holiday care from 06:30 to 18:15. We are closed between Christmas and New Year’s Day and on national holidays. These closure days are not charged and are already factored into the monthly fee, ensuring consistent billing.

Summary
The Municipal Health Service (GGD) conducted an unannounced annual inspection on 21 August 2026 at after-school care (BSO) 't Aquarium in Ten Boer. The location provides care for 22 children aged 4 to 13 years and is part of a small-scale organisation. As of January 2027, the BSO must relocate from the current premises on Kievitstraat; the provider is already in discussion with parents about this. All assessed quality requirements are met, including pedagogical policy, staff qualifications, staff-to-child ratios, domestic violence reporting protocol and parent information. There is no parent committee due to the small-scale nature of the operation, but parents are involved in alternative ways through newsletters, meetings and the parent app. The previous inspection in September 2025 resulted in a recovery offer for shortcomings in pedagogical policy and parent information; these have since been resolved.
