For parents
The Childminder Agency (gastouderbureau) of SKR offers care in a homely environment where children feel comfortable and can build a strong bond with the childminder (gastouder). We guide you in finding a childminder who matches your wishes and those of your child. The agency takes care of quality monitoring, administration and financial handling, so that you can focus on what is important: the care for your child.
Subsidy & costs
Parents can receive childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag) via the tax authorities. The maximum hourly rate applied by the tax authorities for childcare benefit is €8.49 per hour. For Peuterwijs, subsidy from the municipality of Aa en Hunze can also be applied for. SKR offers a calculation tool to calculate the net childcare costs with benefit.
The costs for childminder care (gastouderopvang) consist of agency fees and a payment to the childminder. The agency fees are €2.29 per hour per child, with a maximum of €4.58 per family. The payment to the childminder is determined by the childminder themselves. For care at the parent's home, a payment equal to the minimum (youth) wage + 8% holiday allowance applies. Nappies, baby food and other additional costs are at the expense of the parents.
Trust & screening
Childminders are carefully screened before they are registered. After an introductory meeting, a check of the house and garden is carried out for safety, health and hygiene. Only after a positive assessment and signing of an agreement is a childminder officially registered with the childminder agency.
SKR complies with the Childcare Act (Wet kinderopvang) and is supervised by the Municipal Health Service (GGD). The GGD regularly inspects aspects such as pedagogical climate, staff, safety, health and complaints handling. SKR is affiliated with the Disputes Committee for Childcare (Geschillencommissie voor kinderopvang) and has a complaints procedure. Parents can view GGD reports via the National Childcare Register (Landelijk Register Kinderopvang/LRK).
Next steps
The matching process takes place in several steps:
- Registration and introductory meeting: You register and have an introductory meeting with the placement coordinator to discuss your wishes.
- Finding a childminder: The placement coordinator searches for a suitable childminder or visits your own proposed childminder.
- Meeting the childminder: An introductory meeting is arranged between you and the childminder at the childminder's home.
- Linking meeting: Following a positive experience, a linking meeting takes place where practical and pedagogical matters are discussed.
- Trial period and evaluation: After a trial period of 2 months, an evaluation meeting takes place.
- Ongoing guidance: The placement coordinator visits the childminder at least twice a year for guidance and risk assessment.

Mission & vision
Kinderopvang Rolde's mission is to be there for every child. Every child is unique and deserves the care and attention they need to flourish. We offer an emotionally safe environment where every child feels at home, can be themselves, and has the space to develop optimally. The humanistic psychology of Thomas Gordon forms an important foundation for us in this.
Pedagogical vision
Our pedagogical policy is based on the principles of the Gordon Method. With this method, building and maintaining a good relationship with the child is the most important starting point. This is achieved, among other things, by communicating with each other in an open, clear, respectful and empathic way. All pedagogical staff at SKR are trained to work according to the Gordon Method. By applying this method every day, we always strive for communication with the children in which safety, everyone's unique needs and respecting these are central.
