Welcome to Stichting Kinderopvang & Onderwijs Schiermonnikoog peuterspeelzaal, located within primary school Yn de Mande at Burgemeester van den Bergstraat 15 in the heart of Schiermonnikoog. We provide pre-school education (VVE) for up to 15 children aged 2 to 4 years. Our playgroup uses a single group room of 56 m² and a spacious adjacent outdoor play area of 336 m² shared with the school’s kindergarten playground. Dutch is the main language, with Frisian also permitted. Parents receive information through our joint website with the school, newsletters, a parent app and daily handovers. We follow an annual training plan for pre-school education that systematically stimulates development in language, numeracy, motor skills and social-emotional areas. Each professional has a mentor role and discusses progress with parents periodically. - Good cooperation with the primary school in the combined educational building
- Information provision to parents is well arranged
Violations
- The pedagogical policy plan does not contain a correct description of how compliance with the staff-child ratio is achieved. Due to staff shortages, volunteers and interns are used during lunch breaks (12:00-13:00) instead of qualified staff, which does not meet the statutory ratio
- Two volunteers and one intern started work before they were linked to the holder in the Childcare Personnel Register. The volunteers already worked from 15 and 16 September 2025, but were only linked on 21 October and 16 November 2025
