About this care
Welcome to Skar De Speeldoos in Arnhem-Elderveld, at Leidenweg 7. Our location is a bright and spacious daycare center with a large central play hall and a surprisingly large, green outdoor garden. A true play paradise with a warm atmosphere for children aged 0 to 4 years.
At De Speeldoos we have five groups, including a baby group, a vertical group, and a toddler group. Babies, crawlers and toddlers each have their own corners with age-appropriate toys. Quiet areas are available for the youngest ones. Our toddler group playfully prepares children for primary school.
We are an early childhood education (VVE) location and work with the Uk & Puk program to stimulate children's development in language, motor skills and social abilities. Children with a VVE indication are welcome here.
The outdoor garden offers suitable play opportunities for every age, with green corners, treehouses, sand and grass. Outdoor play is very important to us and we do it daily.

The annual inspection on 26 January 2026 at daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) Speeldoos in Arnhem presents a positive picture. The location, part of Skar BV with 80 places, meets all inspected quality requirements in the areas of pedagogical climate, staff and groups, and safety and health. The pedagogical practice is characterized by warm, supportive interactions between childcare professionals and children. The early childhood education (voorschoolse educatie/VE) is well implemented using the 'Actief Betrokken' method, through which children are stimulated in language, numeracy, motor skills, and social-emotional development. In 2023 and 2024 there were still shortcomings regarding VE, but these have since been resolved. Staff hold the correct diplomas and certificates, and the pedagogical policy staff are adequately deployed for coaching and policy development. The safety and health policy is up-to-date and well complied with, including protocols for safe sleeping.
