About this care
Socrates Meetketting is an after-school care facility (BSO) located at Meetketting 5 in Zwaag. We are part of Talent for care and education and provide care for up to 104 children aged 4 to 12. Our child centre is situated at the same location as IKC Socrates, allowing us to seamlessly connect with primary education and provide children with a familiar and safe environment after school hours.
At Socrates Meetketting, fun in play and development is central. We offer a wide range of activities that match the interests of primary school children. Our pedagogical staff guide children in making choices and encourage independence and social skills. We believe that every child is unique and provide space for both rest and challenge.
Our location is spacious and offers plenty of room for different play and relaxation areas. We have an outdoor space where children can run around and play. Additionally, we make use of the facilities of the adjacent school building, such as the playroom and gym. During school holidays and study days, we remain open and offer a varied program with outings and themed days.

The Municipal Health Service (GGD) Hollands Noorden conducted an annual inspection on 26 January 2026 at after-school care (BSO) Socrates Meetketting in Zwaag, part of Stichting Kinderopvang West-Friesland. The location provides care for a maximum of 60 children (ages 4–8) in 3 base groups, registered for 104 places. The inspection assessed the pedagogical climate, staff and groups, and the accommodation. All assessed conditions were met. The pedagogical practice showed strong points: staff members know all children personally and provide active guidance in learning group agreements. The staff-to-child ratio was correct (32 children with 4 staff members), all employees were correctly registered in the persons register, and every child had an assigned mentor. The accommodation more than met requirements, with sufficient indoor and outdoor play space.
