About this care
At Partou, we offer a loving environment tailored to the age and needs of every child. We believe it's important for children to learn how to make friends, play together, share, and resolve conflicts. These are essential life lessons that we integrate into our daily work.
Our activities are diverse and focused on children's development. We place a strong emphasis on music, outdoor play, and movement. Children are challenged to develop new skills, from crawling to recognising colours. We actively involve parents in their child's care, with updates via a special app that shares photos and messages about their child's experiences.
The Partou team consists of pedagogically trained staff who contribute to the development and happiness of the children. We ensure that our programmes align with the interests and ideas of the children, so that they feel involved in their own learning process. Strengths
- Pedagogical professionals visibly implement the policy in the environment and in their interactions with children
- Professionals can translate the pedagogical policy into practical examples in an inspiring way
- Baby groups make use of the light and art studio
- Sufficient qualified staff and correct staff-child ratios
- All present group assistants and interns hold valid Certificate of Conduct (VOG) and are registered in the persons register
- Qualified staff meet training requirements and language proficiency requirement IKK
- Care takes place in stable core groups with fixed staff for babies
- Parent committee is active and combined with nearby after-school care (BSO)/daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV)
Shortcomings
- Pedagogical professionals could not name the designated safeguarding lead (location manager); this was communicated afterwards
- Professionals were not familiar with the role of the confidential inspector; the location manager has added this to the social map and communicated it via newsletter
- Social map in the reporting code appeared to be empty; this has been corrected by the location manager
Summary
The annual unannounced inspection of childcare center Slenk in Groningen, conducted on 4 March 2026, shows that the location meets all assessed statutory quality requirements. The daycare center accommodates 82 children across 3 baby groups (0-2 years) and 3 toddler groups (2-4 years). The pedagogical climate is characterized by the Reggio Emilia approach, with pedagogical professionals able to translate the policy well into practice. No shortcomings were identified in the areas of staff and groups, safety and health, and parental rights. A few minor points of attention were identified regarding staff familiarity with the designated safeguarding lead and the confidential inspector, but these were resolved directly by the location manager. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) advises no enforcement action.
