SKID Kinderopvang's childminder agency (gastouderbureau) connects parents and caregivers who work and/or study with childminders (gastouders) in North Drenthe and South Groningen. SKID Kinderopvang provides childminder (gastouder) care for children from 0 to 13 years old in North Drenthe and South Groningen. Our childminders offer small-scale care in a homely atmosphere with personal attention for every child. Childminder care is a flexible form of childcare where care days and times are arranged in consultation with the childminder. It is also possible to request childminder care at your own home, where the childminder comes to your house.
We strive for the highest possible quality of childminder care. Our childminders not only meet the legal requirements but also continue to develop themselves as professionals. All childminders are registered in the National Childcare Register (LRK), which allows you to apply for childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag) with the Tax and Customs Administration.
Subsidy & costs
Our childminders are registered in the National Childcare Register (LRK), which means you can apply for childcare benefit for the care they provide. The amount of childcare benefit depends on your income. We offer a handy calculation tool on our website with which you can calculate your net own contribution for childminder care.

For childminder care, there is a minimum purchase of 7 hours per week for children between 0-4 years, or 3.5 hours per week for children from 4 years old. Our childminders work with fixed hours that are discussed during the introductory meeting. The costs consist of an hourly rate for the childminder and placement fees for the childminder agency.
Childminder care at your own home is also possible, where the childminder comes to your house. This falls under the Domestic Services Act and the costs are higher than for care at a childminder's home. Trust & screening
Our screening process for childminders is thorough and meets all legal requirements. Potential childminders must be at least 18 years old and have a child-focused qualification. They must be able to guide children responsibly in their development and offer warmth and security.
All childminders and their adult household members must be able to provide a Certificate of Conduct (VOG). In addition, childminders must hold a valid paediatric first aid certificate. After selection, childminders are guided in drawing up a personal work plan and are inducted according to the pedagogical policy of SKID Kinderopvang.
Our childminders are all registered in the National Childcare Register (LRK) and have a unique LRK number that is required for applying for childcare benefit. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) inspects the childminder agency annually and visits all childminders at their start, after which they are inspected on a random basis. The inspection reports are publicly available in the National Childcare Register.
We maintain strict quality requirements: all childminders and their adult household members must be able to provide a Certificate of Conduct (VOG), must have completed a child-focused training, and must hold a paediatric first aid certificate. We carry out annual risk assessments in the childminder's home and organise mandatory refresher courses in paediatric first aid.
