About this care
Ska Kindcentrum ’t Vliet is a small-scale after-school care centre located in the child-friendly ’t Ruige Veld neighbourhood of Leusden, close to the AFAS theatre. We welcome children aged 4 to 12 for safe, challenging and fun care after school. The BSO is registered in the National Childcare Register under number 143124845 and can accommodate up to 23 children.
Behind the building you will find our large green discovery garden where children balance on tree trunks, hunt for chestnuts, paint outdoors or enjoy a picnic. We regularly visit the sheep nearby and organise nature and science workshops. Dance and music lessons, swimming and sports & games activities are also on offer. Our qualified pedagogical staff help with homework and create a warm, homely atmosphere.
Our mission is to let children discover for themselves and learn new skills through play. We tailor the programme to the season: in autumn we head into the woods to search for chestnuts, craft with them and count them. Everything revolves around fun, movement and being together.
Feel free to drop by during our opening hours or during one of our lively events. We still have places available for new children from Leusden and the surrounding area!Read more
GGD Inspection
Improvements needed
Inspection date: September 22, 2025
Strengths
- Staff are properly registered in the Childcare Personnel Register
- Staff-to-child ratio meets requirements
- Accommodation is safe and meets space requirements
- After recovery, there were permanent, familiar pedagogical staff members and challenging activities
Shortcomings
- A familiar pedagogical professional must always be present on study days
- Work instruction for study days must be followed
- Play materials must be prepared in advance in an age-appropriate manner
- Outdoor play in the nearby playground must be a standard part of the program
Summary
BSO Ska Kindcentrum 't Vliet in Leusden is a temporary overflow location that is only open on study days. During the annual inspection visit on 22 September 2025, the pedagogical practice was found to be inadequate: children received insufficient emotional security and personal development stimulation, partly because an unfamiliar temporary worker was alone on duty and had prepared little age-appropriate material. After a recovery offer on 23 September 2025, during which a permanent pedagogical staff member was present, targeted activities were offered, and a work instruction for study days was introduced, the quality was subsequently found to be sufficient. Staff registration, occupancy ratios, and accommodation already met requirements directly. No violations were identified. The municipality was advised not to take enforcement action.
