About this care
Welcome to BSO Schatduikers, located in the Brede School Het Kroonjuweel at Kroonjuweel 9 in Oost-Souburg. We provide after-school care, holiday care and care on study days for children aged 4 to 12. As part of Stichting Kinderopvang Walcheren, we ensure professional and safe out-of-school care.
After a long day at school, relaxation starts here. We begin with a shared moment to enjoy some food and drinks, giving everyone a chance to unwind. Then it’s time for play and fun. Our younger BSO group loves to puzzle or get creative in the arts-and-crafts or construction corner. Older children challenge each other to exciting board games such as checkers or goose.
Outdoor time is just as important as indoor activities. We have our own outdoor area with climbing frames, a large swing and plenty of space to play football. We also regularly walk to the playground around the corner. In addition, we work with four fixed themes: sports & games, arts & culture, technology and nature. We organise fun activities around these themes, but children are of course free to choose what they want to do. During school holidays we always turn it into a real party, with extra outings and special activities.
We are also here before school starts. Our before-school care (VSO) is open from 7:30 am until school begins, allowing parents to get to work on time while the children start the day in a playful way. With a maximum capacity of 83 children and a homely atmosphere, everyone quickly feels at home at BSO Schatduikers.Read more
GGD Inspection
Violations
Inspection date: August 6, 2026
Strengths
- Sufficient qualified staff are deployed for the number of children present
- Students in training and interns are deployed appropriately
- During school weeks, the practice of merging groups aligns with the pedagogical work plan and permissions are in place
Violations
- Children used a second base group during school holidays (20 and 27 July) without the required permission being in place
- The pedagogical work plan insufficiently describes how base groups are merged during school holidays at the end of the day
- This constitutes a repeat offense: the same violation had already been identified in the 2026 annual inspection
Summary
GGD Zeeland conducted an unannounced follow-up inspection on 6 August 2026 at BSO Schatduikers in Oost-Souburg, on behalf of the municipality of Vlissingen. The inspection focused on two themes: the number of qualified staff and the stability of care. The location meets the requirements for the first theme. For the second theme, stability of care, a violation was identified that had already been established in 2026, making this a repeat offense. During school holidays, children were placed in a second base group on 20 and 27 July without the required permission. The pedagogical work plan was also incomplete regarding group merging during holidays. Additionally, an incidental administrative error occurred on 22 July when children were scheduled in the wrong group. The violation has not been resolved. The GGD advises enforcement.
