Peuterspeelzaal St. Joseph is part of IKC St. Joseph, located at Kerklaan 26 in Zandberg. In this small-scale toddler care centre we work closely with the primary school and provide children aged 2 to 4 with a safe and familiar place to play, learn and grow. Our premises are fully tailored to toddlers’ needs: a bright, spacious group room, a dedicated sanitary block and a sheltered outdoor play area. We use horizontal groups so that children can explore in a calm setting alongside peers of the same age. Thanks to the direct link with the primary school, toddlers quickly become familiar with the building; the transition to the reception class is therefore smooth and natural. Peuterspeelzaal St. Joseph follows the principles of early childhood education (VVE), stimulating language, numeracy and social skills through play. Summary
Peuterspeelzaal St. Joseph in Zandberg, part of Stichting Primenius Kinderopvang, was inspected by GGD Drenthe (Municipal Health Service) on 15 April 2026. The unannounced annual inspection showed that the location meets all assessed quality requirements regarding pedagogical climate and staff and groups. The toddler playgroup (peuterspeelzaal) accommodates a maximum of 16 children aged 2–4 and uses the Uk en Puk method for early childhood education (voorschoolse educatie). The staff create an emotionally safe climate, know the children well, and guide them adequately in their development. No violations or areas for improvement were identified. The advice to the municipality of Borger-Odoorn is: no enforcement.
