For parents
At Gastouderbureau Roodkapje, parents find a reliable childminder (gastouder) in their own neighbourhood. Our certified childminders (gastouders) provide small-scale, personal care in a familiar homely environment. You will be assigned a dedicated consultant who guides you through the entire process: from searching and matching to daily care. We arrange all administration, screening and quality controls, so you can focus on what matters: great care for your child.
Subsidy & costs
Gastouderbureau Roodkapje is recognised as an official Service Provider for the childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag), which enables a direct line with the Tax Authority. Our benefit coach helps parents with applying for and changing childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag). Parents receive benefit for the maximum hourly rate set annually by the government. We offer personal guidance with the application, calculations of expected costs, and support with any objection procedures. All childminders (gastouders) are registered in the LRK, a requirement for receiving benefit.
Childminders (gastouders) determine their own hourly rate, which is usually around the maximum benefit rate (€6.73 per hour per child in 2023). In addition, there are agency costs of €0.85 per care hour (minimum €30, maximum €100 per month). These can be paid by the childminder (gastouder) or the parent. There are no registration fees. For in-home care, different conditions apply with minimum wage and holiday allowance. Our consultants are happy to make a personal calculation based on your situation.
Trust & screening
Our screening process for childminders (gastouders) is thorough and meets all legal requirements. New childminders (gastouders) are guided through their training and registration in the National Childcare Register (LRK) and Childcare Persons Register. The consultant checks the home for safety and hygiene, verifies the first aid diploma and the Certificate of Conduct (VOG), and ensures the childminder (gastouder) works according to the pedagogical policy plan. After placement, at least 2 visits per year take place, annual safety checks, and themed visits on pedagogy and the reporting code for child abuse.
Gastouderbureau Roodkapje meets all legal requirements for childminder care (gastouderopvang). Every location has the GGD quality mark and scores 100% on annual inspections. We are affiliated with the Brancheorganisatie Kinderopvang and the KennisNetwerk GastouderOpvang (KNGO). Our consultants are qualified pedagogical policy officers and are checked annually. Childminders (gastouders) are visited at least twice a year, their locations are tested for safety annually, and all required certificates (first aid, certificate of conduct) are kept up to date.

Pedagogical vision
Our pedagogical policy is based on four core competencies: emotional security, social competence, personal competence, and values and norms. We believe that children develop best in a familiar, homely environment where there is room for individual attention. Childminders (gastouders) work according to a pedagogical work plan that is reviewed annually, with support from our pedagogical helpdesk. The development of children, both personal and emotional, is a high priority for us, with attention to healthy care and a safe environment.
