About this care
Welcome to RIANT Mercuriusstraat, our very first day-care centre in Almere Poort. We provide care for children aged 0 to 4 in a homely, secure setting. Our location uses horizontal groups: one baby group (0–1 yrs), two toddler groups (0–2 yrs) and two pre-school groups (2–4 yrs), allowing us to tailor activities precisely to each child’s age and developmental stage.
The building is surrounded by a spacious outdoor area with small animals. A short walk away you will find a paddock with three gentle ponies and a vegetable garden where children explore nature through play. Every day we serve a fresh, hot meal prepared in our own kitchen. Our qualified pedagogical staff offer genuine attention and guide your child in discovering new talents.

Summary
Daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) RIANT Mercuriusstraat in Almere was inspected on 19 January 2026 by Municipal Health Service (GGD) Flevoland. The location, part of RIANT Kinderopvang B.V., accommodates a maximum of 64 children aged 0-4 years across 5 core groups. The annual inspection found a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere with committed and attentive staff. The pedagogical practice meets the requirements for responsible childcare. Three shortcomings were identified in the pedagogical work plan: insufficient description of the transition to primary school/after-school care (BSO) (missing parental consent requirement), unclear staff deployment per group with respect to the staff-child ratio, and missing frameworks for temporary deviation from the ratio. The operator received a one-week recovery offer and submitted a fully revised work plan on 4 February 2026. All shortcomings have been resolved. Staff meet all qualification requirements, including infant/toddler training and language proficiency requirement IKK. The pedagogical policy officer is deployed correctly.
