Since February 2016, the Piet Mondriaan Child Centre has been located in a beautiful new building at Broekzijdselaan 46C in the heart of Abcoude. Our day-care centre is part of Kind & Co Ludens and offers a loving, safe place for children from 10 weeks to 4 years old. Thanks to the unique collaboration with the public primary school and the toddler groups under one roof, we provide a continuous developmental path that perfectly matches your child’s needs.
We work thematically and through play to support the development of the youngest children. Our professional pedagogical staff create a familiar environment in which your child can play, discover and grow. The spacious indoor and outdoor play facilities stimulate motor and social skills, while the close cooperation with the school ensures a smooth transition to primary education.

Summary
Daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) Piet Mondriaan in Abcoude (62 places, 4 groups for ages 0-4) received its annual Municipal Health Service (GGD) inspection on 30 October 2025. The location is fully compliant with the law across all areas: pedagogical climate, staff & groups, safety & health, and parental rights were all assessed as 'compliant'. However, one violation was identified within the pedagogical climate domain: the work plan did not correctly state the number of target group toddlers and the corresponding early education coaching hours for 2025. The GGD immediately issued a recovery offer; within four weeks, the cluster manager submitted a corrected work plan that now meets all requirements. The violation has thus been remedied. Other positive points include extensive parent involvement (parent portal, themed meetings, child progress discussions twice yearly), well-designed early education spaces, secure pickup policy, presence of First Aid certificate, active parent committee, and clear complaints procedure. The GGD advises the municipality of De Ronde Venen not to take enforcement action.
