About this care
Welcome to Kindercentrum Het Kasteel, part of Junis Kinderopvang, located in primary school De MeerWaarde at Prinses Margrietstraat 2 in Koudekerk aan den Rijn. Our childcare center offers all forms of care under one roof: daycare, toddler care, and after-school care. We are open five days a week and work with two vertical groups for children aged 0 to 4 years.
The youngest children explore various play corners indoors or play outside in our own garden. They roll in the grass, play in the sandbox, and enjoy nature. In the toddler group, we explore boundaries and discover our own talents. We offer pre-school education (VE) and work playfully on speech and language development. To create calm, the older children spend most of the day in a separate space, ensuring sufficient challenge for both older and younger children.
Our outdoor area is richly equipped with a large playground with separate baby corner, sandbox, nature area, and for the oldest children, a playground for cycling. We also offer the possibility to sleep outside. Special features of our location include: all forms of care under one roof, outdoor sleeping, gymnasium available, and pre-school education.
The daycare is open from Monday to Friday from 07:30 to 18:30. For parents seeking extra flexibility, there is the option to use our care from 07:00 onwards upon request. Please contact our Planning and Advice department at 0172 74 58 50 for this.

The Municipal Health Service (GGD) annual inspection of 15 January 2026 at daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) PeuterStart Het Kasteel in Koudekerk aan den Rijn shows a predominantly positive picture. The location, part of Stichting Junis Kinderopvang, provides care for a maximum of 16 toddlers aged 2 to 4 years. The components Staff and Groups and Safety and Health fully met the requirements. The pedagogical practice was also assessed positively: there is a relaxed atmosphere, children are actively involved in activities, and attention is paid to language development. Under the component Early Childhood Education, a shortcoming was initially identified: the pedagogical policy plan did not describe concretely enough how children's motor and social-emotional development is stimulated. Following a recovery offer on 29 January 2026, the provider revised the policy plan, after which this component also met the requirements. The GGD advises no enforcement action.
