About this care
At Kinderopvang De Harlekijn, we add extra colour to children's lives! We offer a safe and trusted environment where children can discover and grow. Our team, led by our proud manager Nancy, consists of dedicated staff and a pedagogical coach who are committed to the development of children from baby to teenage years.
We offer various services, including daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) for children aged 0 to 4, toddler groups for children aged 2 to 4, and after-school care (BSO) for children aged 4 to 13. Our approach is small-scale and involved, which means we can give personal attention to each child. We place great value on healthy nutrition and ensure that children are active every day.
In addition, we offer support to children who need extra care and work closely with local schools in Leersum. We are proud of our pedagogical quality and the involvement of parents in the care of their children. With us, parents can count on a warm and stimulating environment where their children can develop optimally.Read more

Summary
Peuterspeelzaal Ukkepuk in Leersum, part of Stichting Kinderopvang De Harlekijn, provides early childhood education to a maximum of 16 children aged 2.5–4 years. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) conducted an unannounced follow-up inspection on 2 September 2025 following previous shortcomings identified during the annual supervision visit of 15 May 2025. At that time, one staff member lacked an early education certificate and the early education professional-to-child ratio was non-compliant. During the re-inspection, 6 children and 2 staff members were present; the required ratio of one early education professional per eight children is now being met, and the present early education professional holds the correct diploma, early education certificate, and language proficiency certificate. The second employee still lacks the early education certificate, but this is legally permitted for a group of maximum 8 children. The municipality is developing a tolerance policy for this situation. No new violations were identified and the pedagogical climate is satisfactory. The GGD advises the municipality not to take enforcement action.
