Summary

Peuterspeelzaal Ghijs in Rhoon, part of gro-up Peuteropvang B.V., was inspected on March 31, 2026 by the Municipal Health Service (GGD) Rotterdam-Rijnmond. The toddler daycare accommodates 16 children aged 2 to 4 years and provides early childhood education using the Uk & Puk method. Most quality requirements were found to be in order, including pedagogical policy, pedagogical practice, staffing matters, and parent information. However, one violation was identified in the area of early childhood education: on the inspection day, a deployed staff member was not sufficiently qualified for early childhood education (no VE certificate). The location manager stated that this was an emergency solution due to illness of a permanent staff member, where the choice had been made between deploying a non-VE-qualified staff member or exceeding the staff-child ratio. The GGD advises the municipality of Albrandswaard to enforce.
