About this care
Peuterschool Oranje is located on the grounds of the Christian primary school Oranjeschool at Westduinweg 127 in Scheveningen. As an accredited preschool facility of the Foundation for Christian Education in the Haaglanden region (SCOH), we provide professional toddler care for up to 16 children per session aged 2½ to 4 years. We follow the Early Childhood Education programme “KIJK!” and work with clear developmental targets for toddlers.
Our two horizontal groups are led by qualified pedagogical staff who cooperate closely with the primary-school teachers, ensuring a smooth transition from preschool to kindergarten. Each morning begins with a circle time where we sing together, share stories and discuss the day. Children can then freely choose from our creative offer: crafting with various materials, building with large and small blocks, moving to music and games that stimulate language and early numeracy—such as counting, understanding concepts like big/small and experiencing “too many” or “too few”.
We enjoy a drink together and brush our teeth as a group. Great attention is given to social and communication skills: learning to share, standing up for oneself and being considerate of others. Peuterschool Oranje in 's-Gravenhage, part of Stichting Protestants Christelijke Peuterspeelzalen, was inspected on 21 November 2025. The toddler school provides early childhood education (ECE) to two groups of up to 16 children (ages 2.5–4 years) who attend on alternating days. All items examined meet the statutory quality requirements. The location works from developmental goals for toddlers (SLO) using the LOGO 3000 programme for language development. There is a rich play-based learning environment with diverse corners and theme-based activities. The practitioners are fully ECE-qualified and there is sufficient deployment of a pedagogical policy officer. The safety and health protocols are up-to-date and adhered to. There is not yet a parent committee, but the operator involves parents in policy changes through alternative means. No complaints were submitted in 2024.
