About this care
Peuteropvang Westerschool is a specialized toddler care facility operated by Kids First, located within the Westerschool building at Groen van Prinstererlaan 24 in Wildervank. We provide care for toddlers aged 2 to 4 years in a safe and familiar environment. Our facility is open 4 sessions per week and can accommodate up to 14 children per session.
We follow the VVE program (Preschool Education) where toddlers from 2.5 years receive 960 hours of preschool education over a period of 1.5 years. This is done through play while focusing on each child's development. Our pedagogical staff are specialized in guiding toddlers and closely monitor each child's development. Every child has their own mentor who serves as the fixed contact point for parents.
Our daily schedule is carefully structured with fixed times for play, eating and drinking. We provide healthy meals and take allergies into account. Outdoor play has a fixed place in our daily routine, giving children space to move and discover the world around them. We regularly organize excursions and activities such as swimming and creative activities.
The transition to primary school is well arranged with us. We work closely with the teachers of Westerschool to ensure a smooth transition. Summary
Peuteropvang Westerschool in Wildervank, part of Kids First Kinderopvang, was inspected on 12 May 2026 by GGD Groningen (Municipal Health Service Groningen). The toddler daycare center accommodates a maximum of 14 children aged 2 to 4 years and provides early childhood education (voorschoolse educatie/VE) using the Uk en Puk program. The annual inspection showed that the location meets all assessed legal requirements regarding pedagogical climate and staff and groups. No violations or areas for improvement were identified. The pedagogical practice was good: staff members create emotional safety, stimulate personal and social competence, and maintain clear boundaries. All employees hold the correct qualifications, Certificate of Conduct (VOG), and language level 3F. The advice to the municipality of Veendam is: no enforcement action.
