About this care
Daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) 't Elfenbankje is located in the city centre of Utrecht in the building of the Vrije School. It is a cosy daycare center where everyone knows each other. We have two vertical groups where children of different ages play together and learn from each other. We play outside a lot and pay attention to nature and the sensory development of the children. Our activities follow the rhythm of the seasons. Indoors we play with toys made of natural materials (wood, wool, cotton) that are deliberately not worked out in every detail. We sing songs, bake bread every week and do lots of handwork. Children who attend 't Elfenbankje are given priority at the Vrije School Hieronymusplantsoen.Read more

Settling in
There is a settling-in period when your child starts at the daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV). Approximately 2 weeks before the start date, the childcare practitioner will call you to schedule an introductory meeting. During this meeting, you will discuss important care topics such as sleeping, nutrition, settling-in moments, and any special needs. The settling-in period begins on the contract start date.
