About this care
Welcome to Peuteropvang Peuterpalet, located in the multifunctional Acaciahof centre in Stadskanaal's Hagenbuurt district. We provide professional development-focused toddler care for children aged 2.5 to 4 years in two bright, clear group spaces with an inviting play corridor. Our outdoor play area is equipped with natural play materials that challenge and stimulate toddlers in their development.
We operate seven fixed groups per week, each guided by two permanent pedagogical staff members supported by a volunteer or intern. Our approach is based on the Startblokken method with rotating six-week themes that connect to the toddlers' world of experience. A session with us includes free play, circle time, an activity, shared fruit and drinks, outdoor play, and closing circle time. For children with an early childhood education indication, we offer an additional session on Wednesday mornings.
In addition to our regular groups, we organise a toddler group every two weeks on Thursday mornings for children aged 1.5 to 2.5 years together with their parents. Every six weeks we host a PlayAtHome meeting where parents receive activities matching the current theme to continue working with their child at home. Peuteropvang Peuterpalet in Stadskanaal, part of Stichting Peuterwerk, was inspected by GGD Groningen on 7 April 2026. The unannounced annual inspection showed that the location meets all assessed quality requirements regarding pedagogical climate, staff and groups, and accommodation. The toddler daycare provides pre-school education to 32 children (ages 2–4) using the VE programme Startblokken. All childcare professionals are qualified and hold the required Certificate of Conduct (VOG) declarations. There was a minor finding regarding the hour registration for coaching in 2025, but the holder has explained this and promised improvement. No violations were identified and no recovery offer was made.
