About this care
Peuteropvang de Kladdegatjes has been a trusted place for toddlers on the beautiful island of Marken for over 40 years. We are located in our own classroom within the De Rietlanden school building at Buurterstraat 3. Children are welcome from their second birthday until they turn four and start primary school. We operate under the umbrella of Sportify Kids, creating a beautiful connection with both the De Beertjes daycare center and De Rietlanden primary school.
We are open three mornings per week: Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM. This morning care is perfect for toddlers to grow and develop through play. We provide a safe, homely environment where every child can be themselves. Our professional pedagogical staff have an eye for each child's unique character and stimulate their natural developmental drive.
At our center, everything revolves around toddler development in motor, social, emotional and language areas. We work with preschool education (VVE), giving extra attention to children who need it. We do this through targeted activities that connect with toddlers' world of experience. We combine sports activities with creative development, with movement and play at the center. Children have all the space to discover, experiment and learn to play together.
Our location accommodates up to 16 toddlers, allowing us to work on a small scale and personally. We believe it's important that children can safely attach and discover something new every day. Due to our location within the school building, toddlers already get to know the school environment through play, making the transition to primary school easier. Peuteropvang de Kladdegatjes in Marken provides care for up to 16 children aged 2-4 years in one core group, located in primary school De Rietlanden. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) inspection of 4 November 2025 shows that the location meets all assessed quality requirements under the Childcare Act. The pedagogical policy is worked out in concrete detail in a general plan and location-specific work plan, in which working methods, group composition, staff-child ratio and rules around deviating from these are clearly described. Staff members know the policy, apply it and discuss it regularly in team meetings. The pedagogical practice offers children emotional safety, stimulates personal and social competencies, and conveys norms and values. Observations during a fruit snack, play and a craft activity confirm this. Staff deployment is adequate: during the visit 5 children and 2 staff members were present, schedules and attendance lists show structurally sufficient staffing. All employees are correctly registered in the childcare personnel register and hold a Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG). The daycare works with fixed faces (maximum 3 per child), a mentor per child and does not use trainees. No violations or points for improvement were identified. The advice to the municipality of Waterland is to take no enforcement action.
