About this care
Welcome to Peuteropvang Calimero, located in primary school De Sleutelbloem at Hoflanderweg 45 in Beverwijk. We provide professional childcare for toddlers aged 2 to 4 years in a safe and familiar environment. Together with the primary school and after-school care, we form a close-knit child centre where your child can develop optimally.
Our toddler care uses the VVE program Uk&Puk, through which we prepare your child for primary school in a playful way. The toddlers get the opportunity to learn and grow in a structured environment, taking into account the individual character and developmental stage of each child. We work with age groups (horizontal groups), ensuring activities perfectly match your toddler's world of experience.
Before children turn four, they can already experience the after-school care. They join several times to pick up children from school. This experience is greatly appreciated by both children and parents, ensuring a smooth transition to after-school care when your child turns four.

Summary
Daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) Calimero in Beverwijk was inspected unannounced on 9 June 2026 by the Municipal Health Service (GGD) Kennemerland. The location provides care for 16 children aged 2 to 4 years with preschool education. Overall, the childcare performs well: the pedagogical climate is positive, safety and health are well assured, and staff are properly registered. However, one violation was identified in the implementation of the preschool education policy. The Puk hand puppet, essential for the Uk & Puk methodology, was not being used and was worn and soiled. A home corner was also missing from the group room, despite being included in the policy. The provider received a recovery offer and drew up an action plan with concrete measures, including coaching and adjustment of the play and learning environment. The GGD advises the municipality not to enforce, as recovery measures have been initiated.

Hele goede peuterspeelzaal mijn broertje ging er vroeger heen en nu gaat mijn andere broertje er heen en de juffen zijn altijd heel vriendelijk
