At Kinderopvang Walcheren, we provide childcare for children aged 0 to 13 years at more than 60 locations in Walcheren. Our daycare centers (kinderdagverblijven/KDV) welcome babies, toddlers, and preschoolers aged 0-4 years. - Clear structure and predictability for children through daily schedule cards

- Safe and more than adequate indoor and outdoor spaces
- Good safety and health policy with current first aid certificates
- Early childhood education meets all requirements, including the 960-hour standard
Shortcomings
- Mentorship in parent portal does not match paper child files for a small number of children (incident, communicated verbally)
- Location manager and staff need to refresh policy on mandatory reporting, consultation and notification obligations (to be discussed at next team meeting)

Toddler group 't Speeltreintje in Oostkapelle, part of Kinderopvang Walcheren, was inspected on 12 November 2025 by GGD Zeeland. It concerns a daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) with 16 places for children aged 2 to 4 years, located in an outbuilding of the primary school. The location offers early childhood education through the Uk & Puk programme. All assessed quality requirements were rated as sufficient: general terms and conditions, pedagogical climate, staff and groups, safety and health, accommodation and parental rights. No violations were identified and no recovery offer was made. The only point of attention is an incidental inaccuracy in the parent portal regarding mentorship, which was communicated verbally. The GGD advises no enforcement.
