About this care
Peuteropvang Marcus is located in the bright yellow building of the Marcusschool at Mayadreef 1 in Utrecht-Overvecht. As part of Kind&co ludens, we provide pre-school education for toddlers aged 2 to 4. Our location accommodates 14 children and uses a horizontal group structure, bringing children together in age-based groups.
We believe every child deserves a good start. That’s why we are committed every day to equal development opportunities. Our pedagogical staff guide toddlers with language and development games, helping them grow socially, emotionally, cognitively and physically through play. We read aloud, sing, draw and move. There is a strong focus on language stimulation, as a solid language base makes the transition to primary school easier.
Our spaces are furnished with natural play materials and an inspiring range of activities. We find it important that children feel comfortable and have fun. During the day, children receive a healthy bread meal, fruit and drinks. We take allergies and other dietary needs into account. There is a quiet sleeping area for those who need a rest and a safe courtyard for outdoor play.

Summary
Peuteropvang Marcus in Utrecht, part of Stichting Kind & Co Ludens, was inspected on 7 July 2026. The toddler daycare accommodates 28 children and provides early childhood education through the Uk & Puk programme. The inspection showed that the pedagogical practice was good: staff members were engaged, sensitive and stimulated language development in a playful manner. However, a violation was identified: the indoor play area was insufficiently arranged with too few, insufficiently varied and unattractively presented play materials. This did not align with the location's own pedagogical policy. Following a recovery offer, the location has supplemented the spaces and drawn up an action plan for structural maintenance. The violation has thereby been remedied. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) advises the municipality not to take enforcement action.
