About this care
Peuteropvang De Tol is located at Kortland 23 in the heart of Vleuten and is part of OBS Kees Valkenstein. We provide professional toddler care for children aged 2.5 to 4 years in a dedicated, cosy classroom within the school. Our space features different play corners and we have our own small vegetable garden and a sheltered outdoor play area. We also have access to the school’s gym room.
We follow the ‘Pedagogisch Hart’ approach and use the recognised Uk & Puk curriculum. Every six weeks a new theme is introduced through which we stimulate language, social-emotional and motor skills. We sing songs, read stories, draw, craft and spend lots of time playing outside. We regularly go on short trips, for example to the library or on seasonal walks.
Our toddler care is a VE location: children with a pre-school education indication receive extra Dutch language support. We work closely with primary schools in Vleuten to ensure a smooth transition to group 1. Parents are actively involved: each month we have an ‘open week’ when parents are welcome to stay for half an hour. Photos and activities are shared through the parent portal and we celebrate holidays such as Sinterklaas, Christmas, Eid and the summer party together.

Summary
Peuteropvang De Tol (daycare center/kinderdagverblijf/KDV) in Vleuten provides care for up to 15 toddlers in one group and delivers subsidised early childhood education (VVE) using the Uk & Puk programme. The unannounced annual inspection visit on 13 October 2025 primarily assessed the pedagogical climate, staffing and VVE implementation. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) finds that all inspected statutory requirements are met: the pedagogical policy is up to date and implemented, the pedagogical practice offers children emotional security, developmental stimulation and positive interactions, and the VVE provision complies with requirements for hours, space, materials and staffing. All childcare professionals and the pedagogical policy officer hold the required qualifications, language proficiency at level 3F and VOG registration; coaching and annual evaluation are guaranteed. No violations or areas for improvement were identified. The municipal executive is advised not to take enforcement measures.
