About this care
Peutercombi voorschool Dikkie Dik is located on the ground floor of primary school De Scholekster at Karel du Jardinstraat 76 in the heart of Amsterdam-Zuid. We provide half-day toddler care for up to 16 children aged 2 to 4, five mornings a week from 8:30 AM to 1:20 PM, all year round.
Our programme follows the national Early Childhood Education curriculum ‘Uk & Puk’, focusing on language, social skills and early numeracy. We blend this with Montessori-inspired elements: children are encouraged to choose, explore and play independently in small groups. The room is arranged into themed corners – home, construction, arts and reading – that change with each project. In this way toddlers learn to cooperate, stand up for themselves and help others while having fun.
Close cooperation with De Scholekster means the children become familiar with the school setting early on. They use the same materials and methods, making the move to group 1 smooth and familiar. Two qualified pedagogical staff guide the children with care and attention, ensuring every child feels safe and valued.

Summary
Peutercombi voorschool Dikkie Dik is a preschool for a maximum of 16 children aged 2-4 years, located at De Scholekster in Amsterdam. The inspection on 3 June 2025 identified two violations: a temporary agency worker did not have the correct professional qualification, and temporarily there was no VE-qualified staff member present per 8 children. Both violations were immediately terminated through a recovery offer: the staff member in question was removed from the group and from 1 July a new, fully qualified employee will start. The organisation has also introduced additional checks when hiring temporary agency workers. The pedagogical practice receives praise: the staff offer warm, language-rich guidance, stimulate self-reliance and work closely with the primary school. The location meets all safety and health requirements. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) advises the municipality not to impose additional measures.
