About this care
Op ùs pleats is a daycare center located on a farm at Stationsweg 97 in Gorredijk. Everything we do revolves around playing in nature. Children get to feed the pigs, build huts, craft with stones they've found themselves, climb and clamber through the garden, snuggle in a carrier, eat vegetables they've grown themselves from our vegetable garden, get dirty in the mud, or enjoy roasted apples from the campfire together.
We believe that outdoor play in all seasons is the best school for learning. Our children aren't just playing - they're learning, creating, feeling, believing, relaxing, exploring, observing, wondering, connecting, discovering, appreciating, understanding, and experimenting. We provide plenty of space for movement and give children the opportunity to discover boundaries and risks in movement. There's ample time for self-initiated play with natural materials that invite exploration and experimentation.
Our groups consist of as many of the same children with the same staff members as possible. This way your child knows who to expect, which creates peace and a sense of security. We work with vertical groups where children aged 0 to 4 play and learn together. This setup stimulates natural development and social learning in children.

Strengths
- Pedagogical practice meets all requirements: sensitive, responsive guidance with respect for children's autonomy
- Children are playfully challenged in motor, cognitive, language and creative skills
- Sufficient indoor and outdoor play space (3.5 m² indoor and 33.5 m² outdoor per child)
- Safe, accessible and age-appropriate accommodation
- Good organisation with sufficient staff members based on attendance records

- LRK registration changes: The number of childcare places was not adjusted from 46 to 40 in the National Childcare Register (Landelijk Register Kinderopvang/LRK), despite the combined group having only 16 places (8 daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) + 8 after-school care (BSO))
- Pedagogical policy: The break times described in the policy plan (30 minutes between 12:15-15:15) did not match the actual schedule (minimum 45 minutes break), resulting in insufficient staff members present during described timeframes
- Staff deployment: On four occasions in May 2026, less than half of the required staff members were deployed during deviation hours (1 instead of 2 staff members for 11-12 children)
