About this care
BSO De Vrijbuiters is part of FloreoKids and is located at Sportpark De Bloemerd in the heart of Leiderdorp. We provide after-school care for children aged 4 to 12 in two age groups: De Rebellen (7–8 years) and De Piraten (9+). Our setting is the clubhouse of Alecto hockey club, giving us direct access to spacious sports fields, a natural playground and our own football pitch.
Outdoor play, sports and physical activity are at the heart of De Vrijbuiters. We work from a talent-focused approach: together with the children we discover what they are good at and what they enjoy. By continually offering new and challenging activities, children learn to recognise and develop their own talents, building self-confidence. These talents are recorded in a personal ‘treasure chest’ that each child takes home when they leave.
After school, children can choose from a range of activities: sports and games in the gym or on the field, crafts in our creative corner, quiet reading in the reading nook, or brainstorming together in the seating areas. We believe it is important that children can choose and co-decide; participation is one of our core values. We also encourage independence: children are given space to experiment and try things out for themselves, always with a pedagogical professional close by.
Children who are members of a nearby sports club may, in consultation with us, attend their training during after-school care. We collect children on foot from the schools in the immediate area. On Fridays we work together with NSO De Schatzoekers, ensuring there is always sufficient space and supervision.
Our opening hours are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 14:30 to 18:30 and Wednesday from 12:00 to 18:30. We are open almost all the time; only on Wednesday afternoons are we closed. Summary
After-school care (BSO) de Vrijbuiters in Leiderdorp, part of FloreoKids, was inspected on 19 February 2026 by the Municipal Health Service (GGD) Hollands Midden. The after-school care (BSO) accommodates 60 children aged 7 to 12 and is located in the clubhouse of hockey club Alecto. During the annual unannounced inspection, all assessed quality requirements were met: pedagogical climate, staff and groups, safety and health, and parental rights. The pedagogical practice is characterised by emotional security, freedom of choice for children, and encouraging shared responsibility. Children have fixed staff members and a mentor. The staff-to-child ratio was in order and staff are properly registered in the childcare personnel register. The pedagogical policy staff member provides coaching on the job and individual consultations. No areas for improvement or violations were identified. The licence holder has agreed to the contents of the report.
