Christelijk Gastouderbureau De Herberg is the first and largest Christian childminder agency (gastouderbureau) in the Netherlands, active since 2006. We offer small-scale Christian childminder care (gastouderopvang) throughout the Netherlands, with personal attention and a homely atmosphere at the heart of everything we do. At Christelijk Gastouderbureau De Herberg, we find the best match between your family and a Christian childminder (gastouder). We guide you from first contact right through the care period. Our mediation staff get to know your wishes during an intake interview, and then search for a childminder who fits your family. We take care of all administration, quality checks and support, so that you can focus on your family and work. Through our online parent portal Mijn Herberg, you always have access to your documents and can easily approve hours.
Subsidy & costs
Because all our childminders (gastouders) are registered in the National Childcare Register (Landelijk Register Kinderopvang/LRK), parents are entitled to childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag). We guide parents in calculating and applying for this benefit. Our mediation staff explain how the benefit works and which conditions apply during the intake interview. Through our financial system, we report monthly care hours to the Tax and Customs Administration (Belastingdienst), which then calculates how much benefit parents are entitled to.
The costs of childminder care (gastouderopvang) at De Herberg consist of two components: the childminder fee and the agency costs. Together these determine the gross hourly rate that you must declare for childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag). The exact rate varies by branch and can be requested from your local mediation staff. Trust & screening
Our childminders (gastouders) undergo careful screening before they may start with us. They must meet all legal requirements, including a pedagogical diploma, Certificate of Conduct (Verklaring Omtrent het Gedrag/VOG), and suitable housing requirements. We conduct personal intake interviews with potential childminders and keep all required documentation on file. In addition, we organise first aid (EHBO) refresher courses and themed evenings to continuously improve the quality of our childminders.
As a recognised childminder agency (gastouderbureau), we meet all requirements of the Childcare Act (Wet Kinderopvang) and are registered with the GGD (Municipal Health Service). Our childminders (gastouders) are registered in the National Childcare Register (Landelijk Register Kinderopvang/LRK), which makes childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag) possible. We conduct personal intake interviews, register childminders in the LRK, hold evaluation meetings and carry out annual risk assessments at care locations. The GGD checks whether our financial flows are correct and inspects the quality of care.
