About this care
Welcome to Le Petit daycare at Da Costastraat 44 in Zoetermeer. We provide a warm, homely environment where up to 15 children aged 0 to 4 years are cared for. Nature experience is central to our approach: we embrace a green vision, serve healthy organic snacks, and have our own vegetable garden where children playfully learn about vegetables and plants.

Summary
The Municipal Health Service (GGD) Haaglanden conducted an unannounced incidental investigation on 4 August 2026 at daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) Le Petit B.V. at da Costastraat 44 in Zoetermeer. The investigation was prompted by a fire incident on 29 July 2026 in which burnt buns in an oven caused smoke development. The fire department was only alerted through the automatic smoke detector, not by management. The 7 children and staff members present were evacuated to a nearby location. Although no one was injured, the staff members had failed to call emergency services (112), in violation of their own fire and evacuation protocol. Following the incident, the location manager implemented improvement measures, including replacing the oven with a microwave, new agreements on supervision during meal warming, and repeated instruction to staff to always call emergency services in case of smoke or fire. The GGD identified a violation of the health and safety policy and advises the municipality of Zoetermeer to enforce accordingly.
