About this care
After-school care (BSO) De Krullevaar, located next to the De Phoenix and De Koolvlet schools in Broek op Langedijk, offers a warm, safe and stimulating environment for children after school. With five after-school care groups, organised by age, we ensure that activities seamlessly match the needs and interests of every child.
On a typical afternoon at De Krullevaar, children can enjoy a varied programme of activities, often arranged around a theme. Our childcare professionals create an inspiring environment where play, relaxation and development take centre stage. What makes De Krullevaar unique is that older children actively contribute their ideas about themes and activities. In this way, we encourage ownership, creativity and self-expression.
After-school care (BSO) De Krullevaar is open Monday through Friday.Read more
GGD Inspection
Improvements needed
Inspection date: July 13, 2026
Strengths
- Prompt action by the acting director upon identifying the unsafe situation
- Constructive solution through temporary relocation to after-school care (BSO) Wiplala
- Health and safety policy has been re-established and updated
- Risks during renovation have been documented and the action plan has been updated
- Parents were subsequently informed about the policy to be implemented
Shortcomings
- Improve internal processes for timely identification and notification of changes to the Municipal Health Service (GGD) and municipality
- Map out planning and impact of renovations on the location more carefully
- Improve advance communication to staff and parents regarding far-reaching changes
Summary
On 13 July 2026, Municipal Health Service (GGD) Hollands Noorden conducted an unannounced incident investigation at after-school care (BSO) Krullevaar in Broek op Langedijk. The investigation was prompted by a notification from the licence holder regarding a previously unreported renovation and temporary relocation of two BSO groups. The location manager and IKC director had inadequately communicated the renovation in advance to staff and parents. The safety of two groups could not be guaranteed due to noise nuisance. The licence holder temporarily relocated two groups (maximum 4 weeks) to BSO Wiplala, updated the health and safety policy, and informed parents afterwards. All assessed conditions (health and safety policy, parental rights) have been met. The licence holder apologises for the late notification. The GGD advises the municipality to reject an LRK amendment due to the temporary nature of the relocation.
