Kroostopvang offers childminder (gastouder) care for children from 0 to 13 years in a small-scale, homely environment. Our childminders care for a maximum of 6 children at a time in their own home, ensuring personal attention and a familiar atmosphere. We work with qualified childminders who have been carefully selected and receive regular training. The care can be arranged flexibly according to your wishes regarding days and times, and we help you find a childminder who suits your family and parenting style.
Subsidy & costs
Parents are entitled to childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag) when their child is cared for by a registered childminder. The amount of the benefit depends on family income and can amount to approximately 90% of the costs. Kroostopvang is a subsidy service provider and offers assistance with applying for and changing the childcare benefit with the Tax Authority. We have direct contact with the benefits department and can support parents with filling in forms. The benefit must be applied for personally via www.toeslagen.nl.
The costs for childminder (gastouder) care consist of two parts: a childminder fee per hour per child and agency costs per month. The recommended rate is €8.34 per hour per child, but this may vary as not all childminders charge the same rate. The agency costs are part of the hourly rate and are also eligible for benefit. Parents can request a personal quote to calculate the net costs, taking into account the childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag). Invoicing takes place monthly by direct debit between the 23rd and 26th of the month.
Trust & screening
Our childminders are carefully selected and must meet strict requirements. They must hold a Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG), a first aid certificate for children, and have relevant training or experience. During the selection process, we visit the childminder at home to assess the home and surroundings for safety and suitability. After placement, we continue to intensively guide childminders with regular home visits, training sessions and annual evaluation meetings.
Kroostopvang is a recognised registered childminder (gastouder) agency that meets all legal requirements. We operate in accordance with the Childcare Act and are affiliated with the industry association Brancheorganisatie Kinderopvang. Our childminders are registered in the National Childcare Register (LRK), which is required for childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag). We carry out annual Risk Inventories at childminders and they are inspected by the Municipal Health Service (GGD). We have a parent committee and work with model agreements from the Brancheorganisatie Kinderopvang.

The agency places children with 79 childminders across multiple regions. The inspection presents a predominantly positive picture: pedagogical policy, staff, safety and health, and quality criteria all meet statutory requirements. One violation was identified: the absence of a mandatory parent committee, despite the agency having more than 50 childminders. The provider had made efforts to recruit parents. After receiving the draft report, the provider established a digital parent committee on 11 August 2025, but was not offered a recovery offer by the inspector. The GGD advises the municipality of Teylingen to enforce.
