For parents
Gastouderland offers flexible childminder (gastouder) care in a homely atmosphere, where your child is always cared for by the same childminder. This creates a sense of safety and familiarity. The care is small-scale with plenty of personal attention, which promotes children's social skills. As official childcare, you are entitled to childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag). Your personal regional consultant guides you in finding a suitable childminder and is always available with short lines of communication.
Subsidy & costs
Because all childminders at Gastouderland are registered in the National Childcare Register (LRK), parents are entitled to childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag). The amount of the benefit depends on income, family composition and care details. For each child, you can receive childcare benefit for a maximum of 230 hours per month. Gastouderland offers support with the application, and monthly invoices can be used as supporting documentation for the Tax and Customs Administration.
Gastouderland charges no registration fees and offers mediation free of charge. Childminders set their own hourly rate: for care at the childminder's home, this is on average between €5.50 and €8.00 per hour. For childminder at your home (nanny), rates range between €13.00 and €20.00 per hour, depending on the number of children and experience. In addition to the hourly rate, you pay agency fees to Gastouderland, for which we always calculate as favourably as possible, which is included in the childcare benefit calculation.
Trust & screening
All childminders undergo thorough screening: they must hold a government-approved diploma, a valid Paediatric First Aid certificate, and a Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG). Household members aged 18 and over and those regularly present must also hold a VOG. Childminders are registered in the Childcare Personnel Register (PRK) with ongoing screening. The GGD inspects the care location before registration in the National Childcare Register (LRK) takes place.
Gastouderland complies with the Childcare Act and is inspected annually by the Municipal Health Service (GGD). All childminders are registered in the National Childcare Register (LRK) and Childcare Personnel Register (PRK). Childminders and household members hold a Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG). The care location is checked annually for safety and hygiene through a risk assessment. We have an internal and external complaints procedure and are a member of the Disputes Committee.

Pedagogical vision
Gastouderland is committed to the quality of care and the wellbeing and positive development of children. We have developed our own early childhood education programme called Aap!, which focuses on children's social-emotional, motor, cognitive and sensory development. Every childminder (gastouder) receives Cuddle Aap! and the accompanying education folder free of charge. The programme is easy to integrate into the daily routine, and parents receive a newsletter for each theme.
