Parents always have a fixed contact person at our agency and can count on transparent communication about all practical and financial matters.
Subsidy & costs
Parents are entitled to childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag) for childminder care (gastouderopvang) with KINOP. We ensure that the benefit is always processed safely by using a third-party funds account. This structure offers financial security for both parents and childminders. Our administration system Mijn KINOP 2.0 supports transparent invoicing where care hours and mediation costs are billed separately, which simplifies the benefit application.
At KINOP, you only pay once care actually starts. The preliminary process (intake, search and introduction) is free of charge. Parents receive two separate invoices monthly: one for mediation costs (fixed amount) and one for care costs (based on actual hours worked). Payment can be made via iDEAL or direct debit. With iDEAL payment, the childminder is paid within 24 hours; with direct debit, within 7 working days. The mediation costs are debited around the 25th of the month.
Trust & screening
Our screening process for childminders (gastouders) and nannies is thorough and multi-layered. We check the background of every candidate, where they come from and how they have been shaped. All childminders must be at least 18 years old, physically and mentally healthy, and have experience with children through study, work or their own parenting. We only select childminders to whom we would also send our own children. After selection, we continue to safeguard quality through regular evaluation conversations and pedagogical support via workshops.
KINOP meets all legal requirements for childminder agencies (gastouderbureaus). Our childminders must meet strict criteria: a clean and safe home, experience with baby care, a pedagogical diploma, first aid certificate and a Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG). We carry out unannounced home visits to childminders and publish our GGD reports on our website. All payments go through a secure third-party funds account, and both childminders and families are insured against damage during care. Pedagogical vision
Our pedagogical practice is based on the educational theory of Riksen-Walraven, with four educational goals: providing a sense of emotional security, offering opportunities to develop personal competencies, offering opportunities for social competencies, and the chance to internalise norms and values. These goals are implemented through childminder-child interaction, the physical environment, the social environment and the activity programme.
