About this care
Welcome to BSO De Barte, part of Kinderwoud, located in the heart of De Knipe at Ds. Veenweg 10. In this multifunctional building we provide after-school care for up to 30 children aged 4 to 13. Our mission is to make every day a beautiful day for every child, focusing on security, individuality and self-development.
Our activity programme is varied and tailored to the world of school-aged children. We work thematically, with play-based learning at the core. Activities include creative crafts, healthy cooking and baking, sports and movement, and nature experiences in our own garden or during outings in the local area. Music and movement are integral: we sing, make music and dance to rhythm. We regularly organise excursions to cultural or nature locations in Friesland.
The pedagogical staff at De Barte are trained according to Kinderwoud's vision and work in a development-oriented way. We provide a safe, challenging place where children can relax after school, make friends and discover new things. We actively involve children in deciding activities and arranging the spaces, so they feel seen and valued.
BSO De Barte works closely with primary schools in De Knipe and surrounding areas. We collect children from school and ensure a smooth transition from school to after-school care. BSO De Barte of Kinderwoud B.V. in De Knipe provides after-school care (BSO) for up to 30 children aged 4-13 in a multifunctional building. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) inspection of 21 November 2025 shows that the location meets all statutory quality requirements. The pedagogical climate is good: there is a clear policy plan and work plan, children are guided in an emotionally safe manner and are playfully challenged in their development. Staff hold the correct diplomas, the staff-to-child ratio is in order and there is sufficient coaching. The safety and health policy is up to date and the domestic violence reporting code is known and applied. There is an active parent committee. No violations or areas for improvement were identified.
