About this care
Welcome to Kinderopvang Vlinderwerf, our small and personal childcare center located in the heart of the rural village of Hauwert. We are situated in the community center De Werf at Heemraad Witweg 2B, where we provide care for children aged 0 to 4 years. Our daycare consists of two groups: a baby group for children aged 0-2 years and a toddler group for children aged 2-4 years.
We are Fenna and Karlijn, both born and raised in Hauwert with a combined 22 years of experience in childcare. In 2023, we decided to combine our passion and experience to create a homely and small-scale childcare facility. Due to our limited size, we can work flexibly and personally - we are small but beautiful, and we are proud of that!
At our center, the outdoor world takes center stage. We believe that children develop optimally when they can discover the natural world around them. That's why we spend time outside every day, regardless of the weather. The children can play, learn, and grow in our safe garden and the beautiful surroundings of Hauwert. We take walks, observe animals, and let the children explore nature.
Our experienced and friendly pedagogical staff ensure that every child feels safe, comfortable, and loved. We maintain a close-knit community where each child receives individual attention and is valued for who they are. Our opening hours are Monday to Friday from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM, with morning care (7:30 AM-1:00 PM) and afternoon care (12:00 PM-6:00 PM) also available.Read more

Strengths
- The pedagogical policy plan is substantively complete and is discussed in team meetings
- Staff members hold the correct qualifications and meet the IKK language requirement

- The daily programme is structured with fixed routines and familiar agreements
Violations
- Staff showed little regard for the physical autonomy of babies and children: lifting, moving and putting down without warning, and minimal attention during care moments (resolved following recovery offer)
- Hand hygiene was not applied consistently: hands not washed before eating, after nappy changing, when preparing bottle feeds, and after wiping noses (resolved following recovery offer)
Summary
Kinderopvang Vlinderwerf in Hauwert, a private daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) for children aged 0-4 years with 20 places, was inspected on 29 May 2026 by GGD Hollands Noorden. Initially, two violations were identified: staff showed little respect for the physical autonomy of babies and children (lifting and moving without warning) and did not act in accordance with the hygiene policy (not washing hands before eating, after nappy changing, when preparing bottle feeds). Following the recovery offer, measures were taken: posters put up about working with babies and hand hygiene, team discussions held. During the follow-up inspection on 26 June 2026, it was found that staff were now applying the agreements correctly. All other areas (pedagogical policy, staff qualifications, Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG) registration, coaching) met requirements from the outset.

Eigenlijk alleen maar goede ervaringen. Beide dochters zitten hier en ze komen elke keer weer blij thuis van de opvang.
Ontzettend goede ervaringen met Fenna die zo'n drie jaar onze jongste zoon heeft opgevangen. Fenna is menselijk, warm en daarnaast heel professioneel....
