About this care
Welcome to Kiekeboe, our vibrant daycare centre in the heart of the Lombardijen district in Rotterdam. For almost 40 years, we – Stichting Kinderopvang Lombardijen – have been a trusted place for children aged 0 to 4 and their parents. We provide care from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with flexible contract options tailored to your needs.
Our location at Pliniusstraat 9 accommodates up to 72 children. We are officially registered in the National Childcare Register and conveniently located near Lombardijen train station. Our enthusiastic team of pedagogical staff feel deeply connected to Kiekeboe – many have been working with us happily for years. We are known for our familiar atmosphere where parents and children quickly feel at home.
Kiekeboe is more than just childcare; we are rooted in the neighbourhood and now care for children whose parents also came to us as children. We believe every child is unique and deserves to be treated in their own way. That’s why the child is always at the centre of everything we do.

Daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) Kiekeboe in Rotterdam (72 places, 6 groups) received an annual, unannounced Municipal Health Service (GGD) inspection on 24 July 2025. The pedagogical climate scores well: the pedagogical policy is up to date and correctly implemented, children experience emotional security and are playfully supported in their development. Staff-to-child ratios, qualifications and language proficiency are also in order. There were two violations: an employee was not registered in the Childcare Personnel Register (Personenregister Kinderopvang) in time, and the parent committee was missing (more than 50 placement agreements). Both violations have since been remedied through a recovery offer. The website contained outdated information; this too has been updated following a recovery offer. The GGD advises the municipality to enforce in accordance with policy.
