About this care
Welcome to Kinderopvang Het Toverkind, located at Noordeinde 124H in Landsmeer. We are a professional daycare centre for children aged 0 to 4 years, offering a safe and stimulating environment. Our motto is "Toveren met Zorg, Leren met Liefde" – Caring with Magic, Learning with Love.
We follow the unique T.E.A.M. principle: Tolerance, Experience, Attention, and Motivation. These four core values form the basis of our pedagogical approach. In addition, we use the structured Pyramid method to prepare children for primary school through play. Every day we offer creative and challenging themes that match the child's world of experience.
Our location has two group rooms and an outdoor area where children can play and explore. We use a horizontal group structure, placing children in age-based groups. Our opening hours are Monday to Friday from 7:30 AM to 6:30 PM.
Healthy nutrition is very important to us. We provide fresh fruit daily, a warm meal, bread and raw vegetables. All drinks (water, tea and milk) are included. We take allergies and special dietary needs into account.
Safety is our top priority. Our staff are trained in first aid and we apply the four-eyes principle. Parents stay involved through our Parent App with daily photos and updates. Everything your child needs – from diapers to care products – is included in the hourly rate of €11.23.Read more
GGD Inspection
Violations
Inspection date: March 4, 2026
Strengths
- The pedagogical policy is described in concrete terms and staff implement it well
- Pedagogical practice provides responsible care with attention for emotional safety, personal and social competencies, and norms and values
- The reporting protocol for domestic violence and child abuse has been properly established and staff have been informed about it
- The childcare persons register has been correctly maintained
Violations
- A self-employed substitute worker without a baby certificate was deployed to a group where babies were present, in violation of qualification requirements
- The Pedagogical Policy Worker/Coach protocol did not contain a location-specific calculation of policy and coaching hours, meaning this was not transparent for staff and parents (resolved following recovery offer)
Summary
The annual inspection by GGD Zaanstreek-Waterland at daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) Het Toverkind in Landsmeer shows a predominantly positive picture. The location meets the quality requirements for pedagogical climate, safety and health. However, two shortcomings were identified regarding staff and groups. A substitute worker without a baby certificate was deployed to a group with babies, which is in violation of qualification requirements. Additionally, the protocol lacked the specific calculation of policy and coaching hours for this location. For the latter issue, a recovery offer was made that was successfully completed: the holder added the calculation and submitted the amended protocol in good time. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) advises the municipal executive to enforce in accordance with the enforcement policy.
