On 19 May 2026, GGD Rotterdam-Rijnmond conducted an unannounced incidental investigation at Het Kinderpaleis Oude-Tonge B.V., a daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) for children aged 0 to 4 years. The investigation aimed to assess whether the location could expand from 32 to 40 childcare places. The inspection was carried out entirely remotely, as the inspector was sufficiently familiar with the location. All assessed quality requirements (pedagogical policy, safety and health policy, and room requirements) were found to be in order. The holder carried out a risk assessment for the new situation, and the group rooms meet the statutory requirements regarding surface area. The GGD advises the municipality of Goeree-Overflakkee to grant the expansion.
