About this care
Welcome to the after-school care (BSO) of KC De Sprankel, located at Grotenhof 6 in the centre of Lieshout. We are part of Kindcentrum De Sprankel, where education, toddler care and childcare blend seamlessly. For children aged 4 to 12 we offer a familiar place to play, explore and grow safely after school hours.
Our BSO has 60 places and works closely with the primary school under the same roof. Children can come straight to us after school; no transport is needed and the transition from school to after-school care is calm and familiar. The group rooms are cosily furnished and invite both quiet and active moments. The adjacent, challenging outdoor area offers plenty of space for romping, sports and games in the fresh air.
We believe in a continuous developmental line. Therefore our pedagogical staff align the BSO programme with what the children have experienced during the day. Rest when needed, stimuli when they have energy. Together with the children we give colour to the afternoon: we do homework, craft, build, play sports or explore nature. All in a homely atmosphere where every child can be themselves.

Strengths
- Pedagogical practice meets all basic objectives: emotional safety, development of personal and social competence, and transmission of values and norms
- All staff members, location manager, intern and pedagogical policy officer hold valid Certificates of Good Conduct (VOG) and correct registration in the persons register
- All staff members meet training requirements and language requirements
- Staffing levels and staff-child ratios comply with legal requirements
Violations
- Pedagogical policy: the working method described in the policy plan stated that children would only be placed in a second base group during holidays and on Fridays, but in practice this occurred structurally without written parental consent
- Stability of care: children were placed in two base groups without parents giving prior consent for care in a second base group
Summary
The annual inspection by GGD Brabant-Zuidoost on 12 February 2026 at KC De Sprankel (after-school care/BSO) in Lieshout showed a mixed picture. The location meets quality requirements in the areas of pedagogical practice, certificates of conduct, training requirements and staffing. However, two violations were identified: children were structurally placed in two base groups without prior written parental consent, and this was not in accordance with the pedagogical policy plan. The provider has resolved both violations through a recovery offer. The GGD advises the municipality of Laarbeek not to take enforcement measures.
